It is a primary source of HMM because all other modes of treatment use to prove their drugs on Lower animals while Homoeopathic drugs are proved thoroughly on healthy individuals of both sexes and different age groups. Through the human proving we can get subjective as well as objective symptoms . It is a very good source to build up the Homoeopathic Materia Medica .
CLINICAL SOURCES
It is based on clinical symptoms. Clinical symptoms are those symptoms , which were not observed during proving , but they are observed during clinical practice .
Ex. A patient comes with complaints of G.I.T. troubles similar to that of Nux - Vomica , we prescribe Nux Vomica to that patient . In Next visit patient comes with Relief of not only his G.I.T troubles but also of his Backache complaint , wich was not even told by him to the Physician . Then that symptoms of backache can be said as Clinical Symptoms.
ACCIDENTAL SOURCE
This source includes Medicine whose Curative action was discovered accidentally.
Ex. Bata Orientalis in Asthma.
CHEMICAL SOURC
It includes knowledge of Chemistry , which gives understanding and clue of signs and symptoms of drugs by studying their Chemistry . I.e Physical and Chemical properties , action etc.
But as the human being itself is a big chemical factory , the actual sign and symptoms produced by the drug in the body may be different but by studying the chemistry of drugs we can get some idea of its actions on the body .
TOXICOLOGY OR TOXICOLOGYCAL SOURCE
Toxicology is a Science , which deals with study of effects of toxic substance on human beings. Sign and symptoms produced due to toxic effects of drugs can be obtained through this sources.
